Castaway Portland Elopementwed

This styled shoot was an absolute dream. I had the amazing opportunity of doing both the photography and the coordination/creative direction for this shoot. I was aiming for something moody and romantic (shocking, right?) but also fresh. I had a vision, and some incredibly talented people brought it to life in a way beyond what I could have imagined.

This old world elopement was everything warm, eclectic, luminant, sophisticated, intimate, and romantic. A chai cake, an eclectic grazing board, gauzy textures, vintage rugs. And that perfect Frida Kahlo inspired headpiece. The couple who modeled for this shoot is actually married, and even after nearly a dozen years together, they are so authentically in love that it makes my heart sing. All throughout editing, the Fitzgerald line from the Great Gatsby kept running through my head – “He looked at her the way all women want to be looked at by a man.”

This shoot was featured on Junebug Weddings!
